Over two years since launch, Session: Skate Sim continues to evolve with a dedicated roadmap for 2025. NACON and creā-ture Studios have announced a series of major free updates and fresh paid content arriving this year, aimed at refining the experience and responding directly to community feedback.

With over 3.5 million players worldwide, Session has cemented itself as one of the most authentic and ambitious skateboarding sims around. Its commitment to realism and player control has won over a passionate fanbase, and the upcoming updates look to deepen the experience even further.

Foundation, Flow, and Skate Core

Three major updates will roll out throughout 2025, each one focused on specific gameplay improvements and features:

  • Foundation is the first to arrive, targeting core systems and quality-of-life changes. It promises refined gameplay improvements and will be available in early summer as a free update.
  • Flow is set to release later in the summer and revamps trick mechanics, particularly powerslides and reverts. This update will also include paid DLC with a brand-new skate map.
  • Skate Core lands in the fall and shifts focus toward social features, allowing for more interaction and community-focused play.

Each update builds on the simulation’s foundation, further tuning controls, animations, and customization to better reflect the demands of its player base.

More Than Just a Sim

While many skating games lean on arcade thrills, Session’s appeal lies in its precision. Players control each foot independently, recreating the challenge and reward of real skating. The roadmap continues this philosophy, offering detailed mechanical upgrades instead of flashy gimmicks.

On top of the free updates, new paid content will help expand the game’s map selection and customisation options. These will complement existing content found in the Year 1 and Year 2 Packs, which include seven additional maps, pro skater Chris Cole, and a mix of boards, outfits, and Object Dropper tools.

A Community-Driven Future

As with past updates, creā-ture Studios is involving the player community in shaping Session’s direction. The studio has been steadily refining controls and features based on feedback since Early Access and plans to continue this approach throughout 2025.

The team has promised to reveal more details about each roadmap update closer to release, including sneak peeks at new environments and deeper looks at gameplay changes.

With a third year of content and improvements now confirmed, Session remains one of the most actively supported indie sims on the market.
