The final chapter of Guild Wars 2: Janthir Wilds arrives on June 3, wrapping up the 2024–2025 expansion cycle with a climactic new map, story finale, boss fight, and a mountain of rewards. Titled Absolution, this free update for expansion owners marks the end of the titan storyline with one of the most content-rich patches yet.
If you’re just jumping in, you can catch up with our Guild Wars 2 game hub for more on the core game, cloud support, and previous updates.
The Final Descent: Bava Nisos and the Mists Gate
The update introduces a new explorable zone — the ruined city of Bava Nisos, a once-glorious mursaat stronghold now corrupted by centuries of magic. Players will embark on a map-wide meta-event that leads to the Mists Gate, the origin point of the Janthir titan invasion. Expect large-scale battles and evolving objectives across the new zone.
The titan Ura also joins Convergence, Guild Wars 2’s 50-player cooperative mode, as a brand-new boss encounter.
Kinfall Fractal and Jormag Lore
For fractal fans, Kinfall takes players back in time as lowland Kodan during their early encounters with the elder dragon Jormag. This new instanced challenge blends cultural storytelling with combat-heavy gameplay, offering insight into why the Kodan migrated to Janthir.
Homestead and Reward Upgrades
Player housing — Homesteads — also gets a major upgrade:
- Decoration cap doubled from 1,000 to 2,000 items
- Homestead Mastery cap increased to level 500
- New crafted decorations and items now unlockable
On top of that, players can earn:
- A legendary backpack and glider
- New weapon sets and relics
- Refreshed Wizards Vault rewards
A Fitting Finale
Absolution is a free update for anyone who owns Janthir Wilds, delivering a strong send-off for the expansion’s quarterly content model. With new co-op content, lore-rich zones, and deep housing features, this patch sets the stage for whatever comes next in Tyria.
