Why Stellar Blade Isn’t on GeForce NOW

Stellar Blade is finally out on PC and it’s already breaking records as the most popular single player PlayStation published game on Steam. It peaked at over 180000 concurrent players and continuing to rise , proving there’s massive interest beyond the console crowd. But if you’re hoping to stream it on GeForce NOW, you’re out of luck and that’s not likely to change anytime soon.

Available on Steam and Epic but not GFN

Stellar Blade launched on both Steam and the Epic Games Store but it hasn’t been opted into GeForce NOW. That’s not a technical limitation. For a game to be playable on NVIDIA’s cloud platform the publisher has to opt in manually. In this case the publisher is Sony.

PlayStation’s track record is clear

Sony doesn’t play ball with GFN. Back a couple of years God of War briefly appeared on the service before being pulled. Since then none of PlayStation’s major PC titles have been made available. Not Horizon Zero Dawn Returnal Spider Man or The Last of Us.

That trend hasn’t changed with Stellar Blade. Even though the demand is there PlayStation continues to hold back from supporting GeForce NOW.

Other publishers are more open

Compare that to studios like CD Projekt Red Ubisoft or even Nacon. These companies regularly opt their games into GFN often on day one. It’s the reason you can stream everything from Cyberpunk 2077 to Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

Sony’s approach is different. Whether it’s a strategic decision tied to future cloud offerings or simply keeping things tightly controlled they’re not letting their titles land on other cloud services.

Don’t expect Stellar Blade on GFN anytime soon

Unless Sony has a sudden change of heart Stellar Blade won’t be coming to GeForce NOW. There’s no reason to think that’s going to change either not when they’ve consistently pulled back from cloud support even when the audience is clearly there.

As always we’ll keep watching the GFN opt in lists and bring updates if anything shifts. But for now fans hoping to stream Stellar Blade will have to look elsewhere.
