This week’s GFN Thursday update adds five new games to the cloud, and there’s a solid mix. From a day-one heavy hitter to a few quieter surprises, there’s something for almost every type of player.
The biggest addition is DOOM The Dark Ages, which arrives as a full day-one release. It’s a brutal prequel set in a darker, medieval world — complete with shield-saws, fire-breathing dragons, and all the over-the-top DOOM chaos you’d expect. If you’re on Ultimate, this one’s a great showcase for what the tier can do.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 also joins the library this week. No installs, no massive downloads — just launch and fly. It’s a welcome addition for sim fans who’ve been waiting for the newest version to hit the cloud.
Capcom brings some arcade energy with Capcom Fighting Collection 2. This includes fighters like Power Stone, Capcom vs SNK 2, and Project Justice — all with added online support. It’s a fun nostalgia trip and a strong lineup for anyone into classic brawlers.
One of the more low-key highlights is The Precinct, a top-down police game with a retro style and open-ended chaos. It’s been getting good early buzz and could turn into one of those games that sticks around longer than expected.
Rounding things out is Blacksmith Master, a smaller sim where you run your own forge. It’s a slower-paced option, but if you like these types of management games, it might be worth a look.
Five games, a nice mix, and a proper standout with DOOM leading the charge. Not a bad week.
