The Rogue Prince of Persia is almost ready to complete its royal journey. Announced during the PC Gaming Show, the stylish 2D roguelite will launch its 1.0 version in August 2025, bringing its Early Access era to a close with new biomes, enemies, weapons, and the final chapter of its story.
Developed by Evil Empire, the team behind Dead Cells, the game has evolved significantly since launching in Early Access on Steam, with dozens of updates shaped directly by player feedback. Now, the story of the Prince’s redemption is nearly ready to conclude.
What’s coming in 1.0?
When version 1.0 arrives this August, it will add a proper ending to the Prince’s story — along with major content additions:
- A new mid-game biome, joining the Tower of Oblivion and Temple
- A final biome featuring King Nogai as the climactic boss
- The third act of the narrative, revealing the fate of the Prince’s father
- More weapons, enemies, and upgrades to diversify builds
- A true ending that rewards skilled and persistent players
While the exact date is still to be revealed, Evil Empire has confirmed the 1.0 launch will coincide with updates across platforms, including console versions.
One of the most refined roguelites on the market
Praised for its fast, fluid traversal and reactive combat, The Rogue Prince of Persia stands out thanks to its parkour-driven design and tight controls. It’s a game that rewards experimentation — whether through combat builds or different dialogue paths — and the 1.0 launch aims to deliver a conclusion that makes every run worthwhile.
The Early Access period helped refine nearly every element of the game, and with a final content update still planned before August, there’s one last round of polish and tweaks to come.
