Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is getting a major gameplay shake-up this week with the arrival of Otherworldly Venture, a brand-new mode introducing roguelike mechanics and endless waves of enemy attacks. The update launches on June 5—the same day the game arrives on Nintendo Switch 2.
In this new mode, battles take place in the realm behind the Torii Gates. The usual day-night cycle is simplified, and instead of progressing through set stages, players will face non-stop assaults from the Seethe. You’ll start with limited powers and gradually upgrade your abilities as you survive each round, building toward high scores on the new leaderboard system.
To make the new gameplay loop more streamlined, a few things have been tweaked. Soh no longer has to rescue villagers, crystals gather much faster, and Yoshiro will automatically make her way to the gate—letting you focus purely on combat, upgrades, and survival.
Capcom describes it as a challenging score-attack mode with arcade-style depth and replayability. If you enjoyed the main game’s blend of strategy and action, this new mode looks like a fresh reason to jump back in.
