Cold Symmetry returns with a darker world, deeper combat, and GFN support looming
Mortal Shell 2 was officially revealed during Summer Game Fest 2025, giving fans a haunting new trailer and a peek at the sequel’s expanded combat and exploration. Even better, the game has already opted into GeForce NOW—just like the original Mortal Shell, which is already playable on the service.
While this doesn’t guarantee launch-day availability on GFN, it’s a strong early signal. For those new to this system, check out our guide explaining what opting into GeForce NOW actually means.
More Freedom, More Brutality
Built once again by Cold Symmetry and published by Playstack, Mortal Shell 2 doubles down on what made the first game special. Expect a more interconnected open world, a deeper upgrade system, and a refined Shell mechanic where players possess the corpses of fallen warriors—each with distinct abilities and styles.
The game’s description promises an “unrestricted, adrenaline-charged” approach to action-RPG design. And with the Steam listing now live, fans can register for the upcoming beta to get an early taste of what’s to come.
GFN Opt-In a Promising Sign
With the original Mortal Shell running smoothly on GeForce NOW, and Mortal Shell 2 already opted in, there’s good reason to expect the sequel will also arrive on NVIDIA’s cloud platform. It’s not confirmed for release yet, but we’ll be tracking it closely as the beta and 2026 launch draw nearer.
Playable on GeForce NOW via – Steam (original game available, sequel opted in)
