The frozen wilderness of Canada is your next hunting ground. Expansive Worlds has officially announced that the Askiy Ridge Preserve DLC map for theHunter: Call of the Wild will launch on 17 June for PC and console.

This new content drop takes players deep into the snow-dusted terrain of Alberta, delivering 13 region-specific missions, 19 animal species, a dynamic snow system, and a new lever-action rifle. Whether you’re hunting beavers by sound or tracking elk through fresh snow, Askiy Ridge is shaping up to be one of the most immersive and ambitious maps in the game to date.

Explore Canada’s Wild Side

The Askiy Ridge Preserve plunges players into a rugged new biome where tracks are carved into thick snow and environmental storytelling adds more depth to each hunt. You’ll start high in the boreal forests before descending into expansive grasslands ideal for long-range shooting.

Newcomers to the preserve will take on 13 missions alongside the region’s warden and locals. In true Call of the Wild fashion, these missions include unique challenges and even cryptid-style mysteries, including a possible encounter with the elusive Sasquatch.

Among the 19 animals confirmed are region-specific species like the Manitoban Elk and the Great One mule deer. There’s even mention of trees falling in the distance, warning you of nearby North American Beavers—arguably the loudest threat in the forest.

New Rifle – The Laperriere Outrider .30-30

To match the new terrain, Askiy Ridge also adds the Laperriere Outrider .30-30. This lever-action rifle is designed for flexibility, allowing players to hunt everything from Gray Wolves to Whitetail Deer. It supports a variety of scopes and brings a side-loading, side-ejecting system for improved handling in the field.
