The Outlast Trials Launches PRIME TIME Update and Slashes Legacy Prices

Season 3.1 of The Outlast Trials is live—and it’s bringing a twisted new family reunion to GeForce NOW. Alongside the update, Red Barrels has permanently dropped prices for its legacy Outlast titles across all platforms, making this the perfect time to dive into the Murkoff nightmare.

PRIME TIME Delivers New Horrors

Update 3.1, titled PRIME TIME, brings fresh content to the game’s multiplayer horror experience. Franco Barbi joins the Prime Asset roster, teaming up with Gooseberry and Coyle to deliver the kind of group therapy only Murkoff could dream up. Players can face this grotesque trio in limited-time Trials for unique event rewards—just be warned, those PRIME TIME tokens won’t last forever.

New MK-Challenges push the chaos even further. One has you gassing out retired employees in a hellish factory scenario, while another asks you to collect tickets in a gamble for your freedom. Both bring fresh mechanics and environmental twists to keep even seasoned Reagents on edge.

Quality-of-Life Upgrades

Beyond the new content, The Outlast Trials has overhauled its matchmaking with a new Group Finder system. It replaces Quickplay and lets players match with others pursuing similar Trials. The Genesis Program has also been updated to bundle all previously released Trials and Challenges into thematic sets.

Even the Pause Menu got a glow-up, now featuring dedicated tabs for objectives, loadouts, and more—making it easier to stay alive when things get messy.

You can play The Outlast Trials on GeForce NOW via Steam. Visit our game hub for The Outlast Trials to keep up with the latest updates.

A Legacy of Fear—Now More Affordable

To celebrate the new update, Red Barrels has dropped the price of every game in the Outlast franchise permanently:

These price cuts make it easier for new fans to catch up with the origins of the Murkoff Corporation—or for long-time survivors to fill out their collection.

What’s Next for Outlast Trials

The roadmap continues later this summer with Routine Therapy: Nostophobia, followed by Season 4, which promises a new Prime Asset and a fresh Trial environment. Halloween will also bring another limited-time event and a brand-new mode. As always, it looks like Murkoff’s not done with us yet.
