Surgent Studios and Pocketpair Publishing officially revealed Dead Take today – a first-person psychological horror game that immediately caught our attention not just for its disturbing themes, but because it’s already opted into GeForce NOW. While not confirmed to be playable on launch day, it’s an encouraging start and puts it firmly on our radar.
What Is Dead Take?
Developed by Surgent Studios (Tales of Kenzera: ZAU) and published by Pocketpair (Palworld), Dead Take is a twisted dive into the entertainment industry. You play as someone searching for a missing friend, uncovering the grotesque and corrupted underbelly of show business. It’s a narrative-driven experience that aims to peel back the industry’s glamorous surface and expose the cost of creation. The team has promised a talented cast of voice actors will be revealed soon.
CEO Abubakar Salim described the game’s subject matter as “delicate” and hinted that release might not be far away. For a studio known for blending emotional storytelling with stylish presentation, Dead Take looks like a bold and haunting step forward.
GFN Opt-In Means a Possible Cloud Launch
The game has already been opted into GeForce NOW, meaning it’s officially listed as eligible for cloud streaming through NVIDIA’s service once the devs or publishers choose to enable it. That’s not a confirmation of day-one support, but it does open the door for a potential GFN launch.
If you’re unsure what GFN opt-in actually means, we’ve broken it down here.
