A hellish new dungeon crawler sequel emerges in 2026 – and the original is free right now
Ars Goetia and Dear Villagers have officially revealed HellSlave II: Judgement of the Archon, a grimdark dungeon crawler set to launch in 2026. The announcement comes alongside a tempting freebie: the original HellSlave is free to claim on Steam until June 16 as part of the Dear Villagers Publisher Sale.
Both HellSlave and HellSlave II have already opted into GeForce NOW, though there’s no official confirmation yet on a launch-day stream. Based on past support, it’s a fair bet – and grabbing the free game now might be a smart move for future cloud gamers.
A Darker, Bigger Sequel
HellSlave II continues the solo-driven vision of developer Baptiste Miny, offering a more ambitious take on the handcrafted Demon World introduced in the original. Players will once again face the eternal war between humanity and six demon lords this time with even more danger from both sides, thanks to the arrival of Heaven’s own executioner: the Archon of Judgement.
The game builds on the first title’s turn-based action with deeper class customization, time-based skill mechanics, and an explorable overworld filled with lore, secrets, and NPCs teetering on the edge of despair.
Key Features
- Flexible class builds – Start as a Warrior or Sorcerer and unlock six deadly subclasses to mix and match.
- Time-based turn combat – Skills take seconds to execute, forcing strategic decision-making in every fight.
- Immersive overworld – Explore a crumbling world filled with cursed dungeons, ruined villages, and sanctuaries.
- Risk-and-reward progression – Lean into demonic corruption for power, but beware the cost.
Worth Grabbing Now
The first HellSlave is free for a limited time, and while we’re still waiting on a GFN confirmation for Judgement of the Archon, the opt-in gives us hope. Given how visually striking and mechanically unique these games are, fans of dungeon crawlers and dark fantasy should absolutely give it a look now just in case it hits cloud later.
