dotAGE is getting a lot more love. The solo developer behind the turn-based village survival game has dropped a new roadmap, teasing a trio of major updates aimed at improving quality of life, refining core systems, and introducing some wild new twists—including lava.
You can check out the full patch notes here on Steam, but here’s the short version.
Three Big Updates on the Way
- Hyper Update – Brings Agepedia hyperlinks, UI improvements, and QoL upgrades
- Research Update – Reworks the tech tree and tackles some long-standing pain points
- Lava Update – Adds new events, balances existing ones, and leans into chaos
The developer isn’t locking in dates, but all of these will be free for owners of dotAGE, and there are hints that Folkways DLC content might also grow alongside the base game.
Hyper Update 1.7 Enters Testing
Already available in the experimental branch, the Hyper Update is shaping up to be a strong QoL pass. Highlights include:
- Auto-Cast (hold a key to repeat tasks automatically)
- Production-Locking (keep buildings on a fixed output)
- New “Actions” tab and custom UI lenses for better village control
- A more interactive Agepedia with hyperlink support
- Performance tweaks, accessibility improvements, and smarter animation handling
The full rollout of 1.7 is expected during the Turn-Based Thursday Fest on Steam.
