War Thunder’s latest major update, Leviathans, is bringing some of the most iconic and powerful warships ever constructed into battle. With the arrival of Yamato, Bismarck, and Vanguard, this is one of the most significant naval expansions in the game’s history—bolstered further by new vehicles, advanced jets, and modern IFVs.
Yamato and Bismarck Join the Fight
At the heart of the Leviathans update are two legendary battleships—IJN Yamato and the German Bismarck. Yamato’s colossal nine 460 mm guns—the largest ever mounted on a warship—are joined by over 150 anti-aircraft weapons. Bismarck, on the other hand, brings eight 380 mm guns, famous for sinking HMS Hood in just five salvos, and remains one of the most accurate and deadly ships in naval history.
HMS Vanguard and Modern Warfare Arrive
The update also introduces HMS Vanguard, the final battleship ever built. It features 15-inch guns, radar-guided anti-air capabilities, and a unique Remote Power Control system. On land, the South African Badger IFV enters the fray, boasting high speed, a 30 mm GI-30 autocannon, and thermal optics—ideal for quick, high-pressure engagements.
Japanese Air Power Gets a Boost
In the skies, Japan’s F-2A fighter jet makes its debut. Based on the American F-16, the F-2A features a reinforced airframe, composite wings, AESA radar, and locally developed anti-ship and air-to-air missiles, including the ASM-1, ASM-2, AAM-3, and AAM-4.
More Leviathans Await
Alongside these headline additions, Leviathans brings dozens of new vehicles to all major factions. From modern IFVs to post-war naval behemoths, this is one of War Thunder’s most ambitious updates yet.
