Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree has received its latest update with Patch 1.5, introducing gameplay adjustments, new content, and quality-of-life improvements aimed at refining the overall experience. This latest patch brings both small but meaningful additions and larger structural improvements to key systems like Entropy, traversal, and character progression.

Patch 1.5 follows continued developer commitment to post-launch support, responding directly to player feedback. The latest changes are already live and accessible for all players.

Key Highlights in Patch 1.5

Among the most notable additions is a new optional area within Braer Castle. This new zone hides a valuable reward and expands on the exploration elements already present in the castle’s design. A secret chamber has also been added to the Forsaken Mine, alongside new diagrams and gear to discover.

A set of new Runestones now enhances early-game build diversity. These include the Minor Runestone of Ferocity, Minor Magic Runestone, and several elemental variants like Astral, Fire, Wyld, and Chaos. Available through the Occultist at level 6, these items offer an expanded set of customization options earlier in the game.

Another early-game item, the Guild’s Compliment ring, has been added to help smooth the experience for Nightshade-class players. Meanwhile, a new Frost Rune and Frost Oil diagram offer even more weapon enhancement flexibility for those venturing into Drakkeden Citadel.

Entropy System Adjustments

The patch introduces several refinements to the Entropy mechanic, which has been a central but sometimes divisive feature of the game. The flow of Entropy-related platforming has been adjusted, and balance tweaks have been applied to the later stages of these sequences.

Notably, players entering Entropy Rifts will no longer cause entry portals to immediately close, allowing for backtracking or regrouping. Upon death, players will now respawn inside the Rift itself, rather than at the entrance — reducing loading interruptions and improving immersion.

General Gameplay Improvements

Patch 1.5 includes a long list of tweaks and enhancements to improve how players engage with the world. Fully explored areas now display a checkmark on the map, and players can place up to 50 custom map markers.

A range of UI and combat improvements are also included. Enemy health bars now provide better feedback during battle, and several talents now trigger additional interface changes — such as displaying the Adrenaline or Mana bars when relevant abilities are active.

Traversal in Braer Castle has been polished as well, with repositioned enemies allowing for smoother movement through the Right Wing. Pendulum traps have been updated to reduce frustration — if a player fails a trap and still has health remaining, they will respawn just before it rather than facing a full reset.

Combat also sees some balancing changes, including improvements to poison damage scaling and bonuses from items like Hechima’s Claws and the Assassin Ring. Several runestone tooltips and upgrade behaviors have also been updated for clarity and consistency.

Character Customization Additions

Three new skin tones and two new tattoo options have been added to the character creator, giving players more visual variety when starting a new game. These changes continue the game’s focus on letting players build a unique Inquisitor from the beginning.

Artisan Vendors now behave more clearly, with their maximum levels correctly displayed, and quest tracking has been adjusted to automatically return focus to the main story after completing a side quest.

Bug Fixes

A substantial number of bug fixes round out the patch. These include crash prevention, visual and audio improvements, UI clarity, and fixes for incorrect item stacking, ability behavior, and enemy placement.

Specific issues addressed include:

  • The summoned Imp failing to attack after elevator use
  • Pendulum traps causing excessive deaths
  • Cutscene animation skips
  • Incorrect tooltip displays in the Enchant Window
  • Visual bugs with certain attack effects
  • Map markers not placing correctly
  • Achievements not triggering as intended
  • Bugs affecting talents like Envenom, Sic ‘Em!, and Armor Breaker

Full patch notes can be found on the game’s Steam news page.

Ongoing Support

The developers have confirmed that additional patches are planned to continue polishing Mandragora. Community feedback remains a key driver of changes, and many of the updates in Patch 1.5 reflect player suggestions since launch. While no dates have been shared for the next patch, the studio has stated that further gameplay refinements and feature enhancements are already in progress.
