Pre orders for REANIMAL have gone live on Steam for £34.99, and anyone who pre orders gets the Foxhead and Muttonhead masks. It’s a small bonus, but it fits the world perfectly considering everything in this game already looks ready to stalk you in your sleep.
The big news isn’t just the pre orders going up. We also now have the confirmed launch date. REANIMAL releases on February 13th.
What the game actually is
REANIMAL is a dark, atmospheric horror adventure built around puzzle solving and tight co op. You follow two orphaned siblings as they try to find their missing friends and survive through a world full of broken spaces, eerie structures and creatures that feel wrong even before they move.
The Steam demo covers the very start of the game. You get the reunion of the two protagonists and the opening journey through areas like the Mill and the Trainyard. It’s all tension, environmental storytelling and that unsettling style Tarsier are known for.
Steam Deck performance
The demo runs well on Deck. Smooth enough, no faffing with settings and nothing that breaks the atmosphere. It’s Unreal so you get the usual tiny wobble here and there, but it’s very playable handheld.
