A “big” update… depending on how excited you get about checkout stability
Valve has pushed a new Steam Deck Client update to the Preview and Beta channels, and while it won’t exactly set the world on fire, it does tidy up one irritating issue that’s been hanging around the storefront.
General
- Fixed an intermittent issue where the Steam client could reload after submitting payment details during checkout.
It’s not the kind of thing that’ll have people queueing outside Valve HQ, but if your Deck has ever refreshed itself mid-purchase like it suddenly reconsidered your spending habits, this fix should calm things down.
What This Actually Means
If you use the Beta or Preview channels, you can expect smoother checkout behaviour. Stable channel users will get it once Valve finishes testing.
